The first Amazon Gathering was held September 12th-15th 2013 at the Flying Duchess Ranch in Arlington, WA. It was started by Roberta Beene and Katie Stearns with the intention to create a safe and fun environment for women to come compete in a horseback archery competition, who otherwise might not have done so. The goal was to help each other, and empower women. We had a fantastic time, and the bond of the Amazon sisterhood grew into a tight nit supportive community. We now stay in touch with other like minded Amazons all over the world, and hope to hold a gathering once a year.
This year the Amazon Gathering will be held once again at the Flying Duchess Ranch September 10th-13th 2015.
The event consists of two days of riding and practice, where all riders are introduced to their horses, and two days of competition.
